Nouns as one of part in English Grammar that are important things to make of sentences. Nouns are words that refers to a person, a place or a thing, a quality or an activity. we can classify into two parts of nouns. there are proper nouns and common nouns. Now, we will study about it.

Proper Nouns are names and are written with a capital letter. e.g Susan Smith, Great Wall, General Electric. proper nouns refers to unique people or objects. in example Indonesia refers to one country and Bobby Frank ( in a given conversation ) refers to one person. The following proper nouns take the definite article :
a. Plural nouns :
the Netherlands, the Midlands, the Alps, the Thompson's ( the Thompson family )

b. Public institutions and facilities :
the Hilton, the Odeon ( cinema ), the Jakarta Museum

c. News papers :
the Jakarta Post, the Daily Express
Common nouns can be divided into countable and uncountable noun. The distinction is a grammatical distinction, not a real-world distinction. e.g money is grammatical uncountable
( but, it is clearly countable in reality ).

a. Countable Nouns have a singular and a plural. e.g machine-machines, or a plural only e.g
people

b. Uncountable nouns have only one form. This my be grammatical singular. e.g personnel,
police.
